Boxing Day Tsunami Tribute.

On the day of celebration,
the news would shock a nation.

Beneath a quiet ocean a monster's yawning,
It's giant waves strike without warning.

How can you know the pain inside and guilt I hide.
Because I survived while an ocean wave took my baby away.

Too many souls lost to God's glory,
no time to count, no time to finish their story.

No time to say goodbye. No hope, no search effected,
no hope of them being resurrected.

How can you know the pain inside and guilt I hide.
Because I survived while an ocean wave took my baby away.

On New year’s eve we celebrate the new,
but instead I grieve for you.

I try to comprehend and understand,
I question, is it all down to God’s vengeful hand?

How can you know the pain inside and guilt I hide.
Because I survived while an ocean wave took my baby away.

Yet I see God working with the cultural divide
put aside to compassion and strong heart, though we’re poles apart.

Even in a foreign land,
all willing to lend a helping hand.

How can you know the pain inside and guilt I hide.
Because I survived while an ocean wave took my baby away.

We may not know the depth of your pain and guilt,
but you should know that we will support you to the hilt.

Hopeful in the healing, coming to grips with it’s meaning.
This missive is to share, showing all those affected that we care.
